what is laszlomail.com ?

Michael Bazeley of San Jose Mercury News SiliconBeat wonders “if this is intended to be an actual consumer-facing product, or if it’s just a public demo.” I caught Kent Libbey in the hallway to make sure I got the official response…

www.laszlomail.com is a ‘living laboratory’ for getting feedback from end-users that is critical to our success. We want real people to use this stuff and help us make our software really great. We’re focused on selling our suite of digital life experiences (starting with webmail) to communication service providers (ISPs, telcos and cable companies).

We encourage you folk, if like Laszlo Mail, to contact your service provider and convey your interest in this experience.

update: I didn’t mean to be obnoxious by saying “if you read the fine print on the front page…” I actually think it is a failure of our design that you would need to read the fine print. (That probably merits a blog post on its own.)
